HOW COCONUT MILK IS MADE
- Thick milk is prepared by directly squeezing grated coconut meat through cheesecloth
- The squeezed coconut meat is then soaked in water & squeezed further to produce thin coconut milk
- Thick milk is mainly used to make desserts & rich or dry sauces
- Thin milk is used for soups & general cooking
COCONUT CREAM
- It is much thicker & richer than coconut milk
- It is made from simmering 4 parts scredded coconut in 1 part water
- The cream that rises to the topf of a can of coconut milk is also considered Coconut Cream
CREAM OF COCONUT
- It is a sweetened version of Coconut Cream
- It is often used for desserts & mixed drinks
- Because of the added sugar, it is usually not interchaneable with coconut cream
